Good Mahjong Titans play is less about speed and more about choosing pairs that keep the layout open.
Unlock height first
Tall stacks hide the most information. When two possible pairs are available, prefer the one that exposes covered tiles.
Clearing only edge tiles can feel safe, but it may leave the center locked.
Do not spend every obvious pair
Sometimes two matching pairs are available. Removing the wrong pair can block the remaining pair later.
Before matching, scan whether either tile is holding back a row or covering another tile.
Use hints with intention
A hint tells you a legal move, not always the strongest move. Treat it as a way to see what is currently open.
After each move, pause briefly and re-scan the top layers, side exits and repeated symbols.
