Sichuan Mahjong Missing Suit Strategy
Missing one suit gives Sichuan Mahjong a clear early decision: choose the suit you will abandon, then make every discard support that plan.
Choose the weakest suit
Count each numbered suit first. The suit with the fewest tiles is often the easiest to clear.
Also check quality: 2-3-4 is stronger than isolated 1 and 9 tiles.
Clear it early
Keeping a third suit too long can leave you with a complete-looking hand that still cannot win.
Discarding weak off-plan tiles early makes the hand easier to read.
Avoid changing plans too late
Switching missing suits after several turns usually costs tempo.
Only change if your draws strongly improve another direction and your original weak suit becomes connected.
